Day 1: Moscow

Fly to Moscow. Transfer to the Hotel for 2 nights. (N)

Day 2: Moscow

Morning tour of Moscow. Explore the renowned Red Square, bordered by St Basil’s Cathedral and GUM state department store. Stop at Novodevichy convent, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the Bolshoi theatre and Moscow University. There will also be time to enjoy a panoramic view of the city from Sparrow Hill. Afternoon optional tour to the bohemian Arbat quarter and Moscow's impressive metro stations, adorned with marble and chandeliers. (B)

Day 3: Moscow - St Petersburg

Optional tour to the mighty Kremlin, including Cathedral Square and the Armoury Museum with its remarkable collection of imperial crowns and carriages. This afternoon, transfer to the station and travel by rail to St Petersburg. On arrival, transfer to the Hotel for 3 nights. (B)

Day 4: St Petersburg

Morning tour of St Petersburg including the main shopping street of Nevsky Prospekt and the Kazan Cathedral. View the Hermitagemuseumfrom Palace Square; St Isaac’s, the largest Orthodox cathedral in the city; and the colourful Church of Our Saviour on Spilled Blood. Optional afternoon tour of Peterhof, Peter the Great's summer palace, to view the exterior and explore the gardens. (B)

Day 5: St Petersburg

Full day at leisure or optional half-day tour of the Hermitage. Located in the former imperial residence of the tsars and spread over five separate buildings, the Hermitage museum is one of the largest and oldest museums in the world with a superb art collection. (B)

Day 6: Fly home

Morning at leisure or optional tour of Catherine's Palace at Pushkin, including the renowned Amber Room. Transfer to the airport and fly home. (B)
