Day 1: Fly to Kuching (N)

Day 2: Kuching

Arrive in the charming city of Kuching, a settlement on the banks of the Sarawak river with an appealing waterfront and colonial architecture. Transfer to the Hotel for 1 night. (N)

Day 3: Batang Ai

Travel by road to Lubok Antu, then by boat to the Resort , located on the shores of Batang Ai lake, for a 2-night stay. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Batang Ai

Take a boat journey along the Delok river into the heart of the Sarawak jungle to visit a traditional longhouse. Experience an introduction to longhouse life with the friendly and welcoming Iban tribe, then visit the nearby waterfall. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Kuching

Morning journey back to Kuching, then take a city tour visiting the Tua Pek Kong Chinese temple, the city mosque, spice markets, the Kuching waterfront and the Sarawak Museum. Transfer to the Hotel for 1 night. (B)

Day 6: Fly to Kota Kinabalu

Fly to Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah, and stay 2 nights at the Hotel. (B)

Day 7: Kinabalu National Park

Follow nature trails through the rich plant life of Kinabalu National Park, then continue to Poring hot springs where you can explore the treetop canopy walkways, bathe in natural springs and look out for the exotic and extremely rare Rafflesia flowers. (B, L)

Day 8: Fly to Turtle Island*

Early morning flight and boat journey to Selingan island, or Turtle Island, for an overnight stay in national park accommodation. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the island’s unspoilt beaches. This evening, a park ranger will take you to see turtles laying eggs on the beach and releasing hatchlings into the sea. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Sepilok • Abai

Early morning boat journey to Sandakan and transfer to Sepilok to see the morning feeding of the reserve’s orang utans, which are being reintroduced into the wild. This afternoon, travel to Abai on the banks of Kinabatangan river and stay 1 night at the Lodge. Afternoon river cruise to search for wildlife. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Kinabatangan river excursions

The wildlife excursions today are wonderful opportunities to see proboscis monkeys, orang utans, pygmy elephants and a variety of birdlife. Stay overnight at the Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 11: Danum Valley

This morning, drive south to the Danum Valley to search for wild orang utans. Take a rainforest walk and venture up to the canopy walkway. Stay 2 nights at Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 12: Danum Valley

Full-day exploration of the surrounding rainforest. Visit the Coffin Cliff burial area and swim in freshwater pools. (B, L, D)

Day 13: Fly to Kota Kinabalu

Fly to Kota Kinabalu and stay at the Hotel for 1 night. (B)

Days 14-15: Fly home

Take an overnight flight home and arrive the next day (B)
