Itinerary-14 Days

Day 1: Fly to Singapore (N)

Day 2: Fly to Mt Hagen via Port Moresby

Fly from Singapore to Mount Hagen via Port Moresby, then drive through the highlands to Rondon Ridge. Take an afternoon guided nature walk and birdwatching. Stay 3 nights at    the Hotel. (L, D)

Days 3-4: Mt Hagen

Discover the traditions and customs of the Melpa people of the Wahgi Valley. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Fly to Karawari

Fly to Karawari and stay at the Lodge for 3 nights. Visit the Kundiman village for a sagomaking demonstration. (B, L, D)

Days 6-7: Karawari river

Journey along the Karawari river to visit small riverside villages, and see carved totems, drums and woodcarvings. Look out for plentiful birdlife along the way. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Tari

Fly to Tari and transfer to the Lodge for 2 nights. During your stay you will meet the colourful and proud Huli people who live in the nearby Tari valley. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Tari

Explore the surrounding jungle and discover the area’s numerous orchid species, with the chance to spot some of the 13 species of birds of paradise found here. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Fly to Madang via Port Moresby

Fly from Tari airport via Port Moresby to Madang. Stay at the Lodge for 2 nights. (B, L, D)

Day 11: Madang

Drive along the scenic north coast, stopping en route at villages to learn about herbal medicine and local traditional cooking. Afternoon visit to roadside markets, the Coastwatchers Memorial Lighthouse and the Madang Cultural Museum. (B, L, D)

Day 12: Fly to Port Moresby

Fly to Port Moresby and stay 1 night at the Hotel. (B)

Day 13: Fly home 

Transfer to the airport and fly home (B)

Day 14: Arrive home (N)
