Day 1: Fly to Beijing (N)

Day 2: Beijing

Arrive and transfer to the Hotel for 3 nights. (N)

Day 3: Beijing

Drive out to the another Hotel at Summer Palace for lunch, followed by a visit to the Imperial Summer Palace gardens. Afternoon tour of Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. (B, L)

Day 4: Great Wall

Full-day tour of the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu, including a short walk on the wall and a champagne picnic in a nearby pine forest. (B, L)

Days 5-6: Xian

In the morning, relax with a private tai chi lesson at the Temple of Heaven, followed by a tour of the temple. Board a high-speed train to Xian, travelling in first class. Stay at the Hotel for 2 nights. The following day, visit the celebrated Terracotta Warriors. (B)

Day 7: Chongqing

Fly to Chongqing in Business class. Enjoy a dinner of the local spicy hotpot known as má là at a local restaurant before boarding the Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer for a 3-night cruise to Yichang. (B, D)

Days 8-9: Yangtze river

Cruise in style for 2 days, stopping for a shore excursion in Fengdu, a charming river village noted for its elaborate Daoist temple. (B, L, D)

Day 10: Fly to Shanghai

Disembark early this morning and visit the site of the Three Gorges Dam project. Transfer to Yichang and fly to Shanghai. Stay at the Hotel for 2 nights. (B)

Day 11: Shanghai

Visit Jade Buddha temple and Yu garden, followed by a stroll along the Bund waterfront. (B)

Day 12: Fly home

Take the Maglev train to Shanghai airport, then fly home. (B)
