Day 1: Fly to Zürich

Morning flight to Zürich. Afternoon at leisure to explore the numerous museums and art galleries or take a leisurely cruise on Lake Zürich. Stay overnight at Hotel. (N)

Day 2: Interlaken

This morning board the Luzern-Interlaken Express for a journey along the shores of crystal-clear lakes, past romantic waterfalls and over the breathtaking Brünig Pass to Interlaken, overlooked by the magnificent trio of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains. Stay 2 nights at Hotel. (B)

Day 3: Interlaken

Day 4: Jungfraujoch • Montreux

Morning visit to the top of Europe – the renowned Jungfraujoch. Marvel at the views out over the Bernese Alps from Europe’s highest railway station, before heading up to gaze over the Aletsch glacier at over 3,454 metres above sea level. Late afternoon rail journey from Interlaken to Montreaux on the Golden Pass rail route, with panoramas over Lake Geneva. Overnight at the Hotel . (B)

Day 5: Zermatt

Morning at leisure. Afternoon train to Zermatt. If you have time, a visit to the breathtaking rocky ridge of Gornergrat, with unrivalled views of the Matterhorn peak, is highly recommended. Stay overnight at Hotel.(B)

Day 6: St. Moritz

Today, travel on the legendary Glacier Express from Zermatt to St Moritz, a thrilling journey in a panoramic carriage taking in some of the most dramatic scenery Switzerland has to offer. Travel along the deep Rhône valley, over the dramatic Oberalp Pass and through the Rhine gorge to glamorous St Moritz. Stay overnight at Hotel. (B, L)

Day 7: Lugano

Morning at leisure to explore St Moritz. Afternoon rail journey on board the Bernina Express. Travel along viaducts and over remote glaciers before heading down to the border of Italy. Change to the Bernina Express bus which takes you through Italy before heading back to Switzerland and the lakeside town of Lugano. Stay overnight at Hotel. (B)

Day 8: Lucerne

Morning rail journey on the Gotthard Express route from the Mediterranean south to the traditional heart of Switzerland, Lucerne. The Gotthard route is extremely scenic and includes a lake cruise from Flüelen to Lucerne, ideal for relaxing and enjoying lunch at the onboard restaurant. Arrive into Lucerne and stay overnight at the Hotel. (B)

Day 9: Fly home

Train to Zürich airport and fly back home. (B)
