Botswana & Zambia: Family Safari-13 Days
Itinerary-13 Days
Day 1: Fly to Johannesburg
Fly overnight to Johannesburg. (N)
Day 2: Fly to the Okavango delta via Maun
Arrive in Johannesburg and connect to a flight to Maun . Fly by light aircraft into the Okavango delta. Stay 3 nights at Camp in Khwai Community Area. Each tent has an en suite bathroom, living area and outdoor shower, as well as a spacious veranda where a daily parade of animals coming down to drink at the river in front of the camp may be spotted. Afternoon safari activity including wildlife drives, guided walks and mokoro (dug-out canoe) safaris. Night drives are conducted in the early evening, offering a chance to see the smaller more nocturnal animals with spotlights. (D)
Days 3-4: Okavango delta
Days at leisure or take part in optional safari activities. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Fly to Chobe National Park
Fly by light aircraft to Kasane. Here you will be picked up and driven 50 minutes (excluding stops to view wildlife) across the Chobe National Park to the quieter western side. Stay 3 nights at Camp located high up on the edge of a rocky ridge overlooking the Chobe river. The lodge has a fabulous swimming pool with a viewing deck onto a private waterhole. Activities here include wildlife drives and boat cruises where large lion prides, great herds of elephant and buffalo and prolific birdlife may be spotted. (B, L, D)
Days 6-7: Chobe National Park

Day: 8 Livingstone*
Transfer back through the park and cross the border into Livingstone in Zambia, a journey of approximately 2.5 hours. Stay 4 nights at Lodge, right on the banks of the Zambezi river (room type will depend upon availability and size of the family). Waterberry is within easy reach of Livingstone and Victoria Falls, but well away from helicopters and microlights and the general buzz of a busy town. Spend at least one day around the falls and the town, then enjoy excursions from the lodge such as river cruises, island picnics, fishing and birdwatching trips. A highlight for many is a visit to a local village where many of the staff live and where Waterberry has built and manages the local pre and primary schools. Two in-house activities per day have been included in your stay. (B, L, D)
Days 9-11: Livingstone
Days at leisure or take optional excursions. (B, L, D)
Day 12: Fly back home Johannesburg
Transfer to the airport and fly back home via Johannesburg. (B)
