Day 1: Budapest (Hungary)

Arrive and transfer to the Hotel for 2 nights. (D)

Day 2: Budapest

Morning city tour. Afternoon at leisure. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Lajosmizse • Kecskemet

Board the Golden Eagle for 6 nights and head towards Lajosmizse for a spectacular Puszta horse show. Afterwards, the train will continue to Kecskemet where you will be welcomed by students from a local music academy. (B, L, D)

Day 4: Sighisoara • Brasov (Romania)

Morning walking tour of Sighisoara. The train continues to Brasov where you will take a tour of Bran castle. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Veliko Tarnovo • Plovdiv (Bulgaria)

Morning arrival in Veliko Tarnovo, where you will take a tour of Bulgaria’s ancient capital. Late afternoon arrival in Plovdiv to explore the charming old town. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Belgrade (Serbia)

Morning tour of Belgrade, before a traditional lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon visit to the Tesla museum, which honours the life and work of engineer and inventor Nikola Tesla. (B, L, D)

Day 7: Mostar • Sarajevo (Bosnia)

This morning take a tour of Mostar before travelling to Sarajevo where you will embark on a fascinating and poignant tour, including a visit to the Tunnel Museum under Sarajevo airport. (B, L, D)

Day 8: Ljubljana (Slovenia)

Full day in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Visit Predjama castle and take a mini-train deep into Postojna cave. Afternoon tour to Preseren Square, Three Bridges and Dragon Bridge. (B, L, D)

Day 9: Trieste • Venice (Italy)

This morning the Golden Eagle Danube Express arrives into the Italian port of Trieste. Take a short tour of the Main Square and Church of San Giusto. Enjoy a farewell lunch back on board, as you travel along the Adriatic coast towards Mestre then across the Venice lagoon to the Grand Canal. Transfer by boat to the hotel for a 2-night stay. Day 10: Venice

Take a walking tour around the highlights of this spectacular city, visiting the winding lanes beside the Grand Canal, St Mark’s Square, St Mark’s Basilica and the Rialto market. Alternatively, enjoy the city at your own pace. Farewell reception dinner. (B, L, D)

Day 11: Venice

Transfer to the airport. (B)
